The easiest way to describe a Facebook Group:
It is as an online community, a discussion forum, or a support group facilitated around a common theme, training, interest or vision. Groups are great for masterminding with likeminded people and organizing interaction along a common purpose. The point of a Group is for relevant interaction. Active participation among Group members keeps a Group alive and focused. A Group may be a great a place to share knowledge & find training, resources, advice, and support. The basic thing to consider is being committed to managing your Group and being responsive to your Group on a regular basis. A Facebook Group will be a great place to share your expertise and encourage others to step into their own value and gifts. Make sure you create a balance between promoting yourself and serving the Group because a Group is an online community which focuses on the interests of its members. The best Facebook Groups have 3 things in common: 1) A clearly defined purpose - The Group members know why they belong and what they can post in the Group. 2) Clear rules for being removed - No spamming, hate speech, arguing, affiliate links or self-promotion is allowed. It’s not a place to get people to opt into your business offers that’s what ads and business pages are for. 3) High quality interaction and engagement among the members - Everyone is invited to comment, ask questions, and to share information and resources with others. Allow the Group to run itself, and police things if members break the rules or disputes arise among Group members. Make certain that the Group delivers high quality value to the members. Secret: Bigger is not better. Some of the most successful Groups on Facebook have 5000-15,000 members, but very small, secret Facebook groups with less than 10 people are very effective as well. As long as you and most of the members in the Group participate it will run well. You may decide the size for your Facebook Group based on the purpose of your Group. Your Group can be about any kind of Team, a Neighborhood location, an MLM or Networking group, a Social/Fun group, a Hobby/Community group, a Business group, a Professional training group.
